I've completed Act 1 and I was wondering if there is anything the writing team would like me to keep in mind? I usually try my best to fix the line to make as close to the original as I can, but sometimes I have to rephrase a dialogue entirely, so it'd be good to know if there's any particular style I strive for. For an example, character speaking in particular way. Like I noticed Sonya speaks in a stern manner, Midori is brash and rude, and so on. Any notes would be appreciated!
Sonya is stern – and blunt, even when she opens up later on. Midori speaks extremely informally, but i'm not sure whether using American or British-specific slang would be an appropriate adaptation. Atsuko is outwardly polite, exhibiting mild self-esteem issues but not to the point of having trouble socializing; Kaede is playful, eager to talk, and artsy. Rika is intelligent, melancholic. Fukui is an average middle-aged guy.
Hi! Just a little update that comes with a question. I'm about 70% of the way through the story now and things are going well, although some chapters need a little more time than others.
On that note, I've noticed that every now and then, the story would add honorifics (-chan, -kun, etc.) to characters and I was wondering if you guys would like me to keep them? I ask this because these honorifics doesn't appear elsewhere in the story (or in the original Katawa Shojo) at all, so removing them might be the most streamlined thing to do for the sake of consistency. But on the other hand, if the story needs them, I'm willing to leave them alone.
Update: I'm pleased to announce that the main story and the Telemetry chapters are complete! At the moment, I'm doing some minor tweaks now that I have the hindsight of the whole story to work with. Then I'll pass it onwards to some friends of mine to ensure that everything is in the best possible quality before I hand it over to you guys. After that, we can talk through my changes.
