wow this was really really good. I love the save mechanic with the journal, but imo needs quicksaving back as it's very frustrating to replay

Hey man! About the save mechanic, what you need to do, is just - get good! Just kidding) I figured it's a short game, so it's not that dramatic and i wanted the game to be slower, feel more dangerous and less run&gunny, the player to be more careful etc. But also, you can kill most enemies with an axe, without taking damage, the bats and wraith are exceptions, but bats die to anything with 1 hit and wraiths can be avoided all together.

But anyway, thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!

why even save at all then? why not just make it a roguelike? and believe me I am using the axe lol, not sure where to go after I get the red key and the blunderbuss though

I might add a version with save game option. In terms of where to go, hm, i mean there is a door for the red key, it can be found if you go to the right side of the crypt.

that might make sense if you are making the game bigger.  I could totally see that first area being the hub. though ngl it definitely makes the game tense without the saves. loved the game, gave me daggerfall vibes but as more of an FPS

I understand, but that was kinda the point, i wanted it to be "scarier", more dangerous than a regular shooter. But i've added a version with quicksaves/loads. Anyway, thanks for your feedback!

no yeah I was actually saying I liked the tension , despite the contradiction

The Journal save mechanic was suppose to be the way you save. The town was supposse to be a HUB where you return. But yeah, since i've so far, decided to only make a demo version for now, it's kinda pointless i agree, i just didn't want to remove it)
