Finished the demo(n).
This got me instantly hooked. I love the format, and I think this has a lot of potential.
You already got a lot of good feedback, so cant wait to see how this develops.
Some feedback from me (sorry if already mentioned or if I have missed out on some kind of game mechanic):
- The taming of animals feels very lacking right now. Too much time spent on farming carrots for relatively small profit in regards of power. The wolves also doesn´t feel like a challenge, so right now I found the best route was to just slay the wolves and goblins, and go with the elves.
- This is just a continuation of my latter point, but the goblin faction isnt really worth it right now, because of time spent on creating wolf riders. That being said, the goblin faction has great potential, and I also understand that this is early in development.
You probably have a lot of ideas, but heres a couple of suggestions:
- The creatures of the forest could be a great faction on its own, or as a part of how the elfs commune with nature. An army of living trees really scratches an itch for me. Alternatively, an faction of Ents that really dont care about the squabbles between other races, but still are willing to fight against the Demon Lord to save the forest, could be one story line. A more "evil" story line could be to create ultra powerful wands from Ent Wood, as a part of a wizard story line.
- I would love to see story lines that are conditioned by strict rules, like the usual stuff (fighter/soldier, wizards, etc), and more original stuff like "animal lover" (no animals slain), "forest spirit" (no wood chopping),, and so on. I think this could create a ton of opportunity and would also make the game even more enjoyable for several play-through
