I didn’t totally connect your game with the theme. I did see the monster briefly, then it seemed to stop, or just moved much slower that I never saw it again, so never felt it was an unseen threat. I agree with the other comment about the visual discrepancies. I also am not sure if the shiny parts on the ground were oil? But I visually went under them.
I did find the gameplay enjoyable, though wished I had some indicator of a miss and success. Maybe an audio feedback or visual confirmation?

I get the theme connection is weak, initially I had planned to go with a story progression where the character gets to see the monster over 3 days, on the first only the sound no chase, on the second footsteps with little bit of a chase and the whole monster on the third with a full on chase, but I tried implementing a mvp(that's only doing day3 idea) considering the time which I did not manage properly.

The monster is supposed to speed up when you slow down that's how I make it challenging but yeah it's not fast enough.

I'll fix these issues since I didn't test my game out that well.
