I think you needed to introduce the mechanics more progressively. Information overload at the start makes it very hard to get into it.

Remember that your player comes into your game knowing very little, so throwing six resource meters and eight actions at them right off the bat is... a lot.

The game now has a progressive tutorial that starts with just 2 resources (Energy + Harmony/Chaos) and 2 basic actions. New mechanics unlock gradually every few turns, so players learn step-by-step instead of being overwhelmed in the new update. You can also skip straight to the full game if you prefer.
