The Otome tag should be removed then. Contrary to what some in the West think, Otome is not a catch-all word. It means "girl" or "woman" in Japanese, and the genre refers specifically to a female protag+male love interests. People can make what they want, but it should be labeled correctly.
That's fine. That's ever been my only problem...the lack of properly tagging things. In response to your other post; no, I am not projecting. Perhaps you are? See, I can flip that around, too.
If you bothered to see the comment threads on many, MANY VNs that were (originally) female only, there's always someone pestering the creator to make the MC neutral or gender-selectable, and the creator ends up caving. In the same vein, any time someone points out things don't need to be for EVERYONE, and it's fine to have VNs that cater to specific groups, said person gets called a "bigot" and other such nonsense. They also do this even if you mention something is incorrectly tagged Otome when it is not, in fact, Otome. Meanwhile (and I will always use this example, because it always applies), if someone were to go to a BL or Bara game and pester for a gender-selectable protag... there would be/is chaos. It's hypocrisy, and it's tiring. I'm all for VNs being for certain groups, but it has to be CONSISTENT. None of this "rules for thee, but not for me" BS.
Anyway, my issue was your out of left field "hetero girlies" comment, as the people (like myself. also, apparently bis don't exist? bruh) pointing any of this out reads more like "anyone saying otherwise is homophobic", because that's usually the case. People love throwing that word around so much that it has lost all meaning. However, since you just seem to be focused on tagging things correctly, I don't have an issue with you.
"if u bothered to see" homie im not the one having a huge issue there, why are u so passive-aggressive, have u been hurt so deeply?? I'm just saddened when there is lack of proper tagging. the "girlies" part came afterward, cause sadly i've dealt with a lot of hate from cishetgirls specifically when i was just asking questions like that or asking authors on tumblr to tag their content properly yet again. Yeah i agree that was uncalled-for, im sorry for that, but let's not forget that it was you who assumed I was pestering the author by asking a simple and VALID question which would help me to register whether I want to interact with the content. And you attacked me. A-hole move here on ur part, too smh
with all that said, i think we can tots learn from that exchange, sometimes questions are just questions and assuming can be dangerous and attacking some group is not cool and one should be more considerate, peace
