It's alright though its scope is very limited. No enemies or nothin?
I apologize for the lack of features. As ive developed it without a game engine only using an opengl wrapper. Meaning ive had to program most features completely from scratch. Though i appreciate you playing the rushed demo.
note the races are time trails the are no enemies as that was completely out of scope to write an path finding algorhythm and also this is just a demo
if you want to you can check out the source code on github
It's no problem. I wonder if you'll finish this game
i will code needs a little refactoring but on my end its no problem right now i am just waiting for my friend that composed the music to renew his fl studio license and after the game jam i will continue working on it
as originally the game was suppoused to have 5 maps so thats how many itl have
and the leaderboards will obviously have to be revamped for that and other stuff
Love the song and the feel of the controls super nes for sure hard to see my character maybe could have been a bit bigger. great stuff can't to see what you cook next time
i am aware of that issue ive sadly completely borked the camera controls in the codebase while fixing the custom bmp font renderer => zooming not working i will try to fix it in the full version though :D
Thanks for the support :D
audio track is an absolute banger! Controls are whacky but I like them. Like CryptRat wrote it already collision would be great addition
I know i will add hitboxes after the jam ends. As i didnt have enough time to add them due to the complexity of the codebase. Thanks for the feedback :D i really value it
note if you press f3 and look at the debug menu you can see i have it prepared to be added
edit : ive already got an idea how i could implement collisions (similar system like checkpoints)
Thanks for enjoying the soundtrack. Tried my best to stick within NES limitations for all but one so far.
i totally forgot about that (theres a file in the assets folder called winner.png which is literally just this) wanted to implement it as a win screen but somehow my implementation caused memory corruptions so i scrapped it
would have been perfect if there it was there
i know i just didnt have enough time :(
Despite the inspiration I would have appreciated some kind of feedback for impacts but otherwise the controls of the game feel good. "Hi mom".
I read your postmortem, I think porting the game to Windows indeed made sense, kudos for the technical achievements.
Thanks dude. Appreciate the feedback and the reference to the easter egg. :D
