I survived! It took me 29:22 and I was at level 43 at the end. I think the game could feel more like a NES game (although I'm not certain of the precise reasons) but it was fun to play, the rise in power, making these explosive spiders explode as well as eventually managing to defeat the queen were all satisfying.
