Tentacles and oviposition rarely makes sense, logically.
Tentacle semen shouldn't be able to inseminate cross-species without some kind of hybridization occurring... like with xenomorphs, wherein the type of alien that is created depends on the host: human worker/soldier, dog runner/spitter, etc...
So as long as its a warm hole, most oviposition doesn't care, as its just using the host as an incubator. Though, usually the egg hatches inside the woman, rather than she pushes out eggs. She might do so, to prevent them hatching inside though.
