Fun idea, you maybe could speed-up a bit the shrinking of the planet to get faster to the fun part of trying to not hit yourself.
The zoom out is a nice feature to be able to view the whole snake.
Yes, unfortunately I didn't have time to fine-tune the planet shrinking speed. If I get back to this game after the jam ends, that's one of the first things I'm gonna do!
