This was a lot of fun to play. I hadn't noticed how fast the food level was going down the first playthrough, quickly learned not to be too kind to the people on the next!

It is actually quite challenging, although it might not seem like it at first. The reason is that given more-or-less constant birth and death rates, the population grows exponentially, but food production only linearly.
