Effective ways to promote game ?

"What are some effective ways to promote an indie game (finished or still in development) beyond the obvious platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Steam, and Itch.io and itch.io discord?

I already have a Steam page and an Itch.io presence, some posts on social media, but I'm looking for additional, maybe less obvious strategies or platforms. Should I start reaching out to streamers and YouTubers with free keys? Are Fiverr or other services worth considering? I'm curious about other developers’ experiences, tips, or even things to avoid when promoting a game these days.

Your own website. Nothing beats having your own website. Everything else is in support of that. Also forums. I mean, not just the itch.io community, great as it is.

You don't need SEO. SEO is astrology for web developers. You need to make a good website. That takes work. But it's the best way to promote stuff, because it's all yours. You can do anything you want there. And yes, depending on where you host you can have access to complete traffic stats too.
