For the little bit of story, this was really cute. I could see a larger version of this having a really big emotional reveal/payoff at the end.
Agreed that the juxtaposition of 2D pixel art and 3D art was a bit jarring, but I there were a lot of nice touches. The motor loop for the boat was nice.
As for the fishing mechanic, I feel like it was a solid base, but it would have been nice to see some more variation, having to adapt to the fish’s movement or something along those lines.
Regardless, for your first complete game, this was solid!
Edit: Also, I played this on Linux and it worked well! Just figured I’d throw that out there in case you weren’t sure.
