Steam bans Itch.io on their platform

Yo. guys. wanna know something sad?

You know how on Steam, if you have level high enough you can add special sections like artwork and what not? well one of those section is custom info box.

In there, ppl tend to put links, their rigs, links to their social media and stuff.

But if you dare to put an Itch.io link in there - your entire infobox will get automatically disabled after a minute or so

I just found that out when I tried putting some itch.io links into my own user profile.

Even just putting "itch.io" in there anywhere will make it go puff

Steam fears that players will discover DRM-free alternatives to being locked in their proprietary Steam Client.

Steam blocks links to free webhosters among other things. 

ofc steam will do that as expected
