Used the weekend to re-read from chapter 1 (10/10 - would recommend) since I needed the refresh, and - wow: Was it great to rediscover this story again. Loved chapter 12. I have a particular penchant for great dialogue-focused scenes, so an entire update, literally, focused on the dynamics of people sitting around talking (or not!) to each other, and the hidden/blatant of their motives -- Delish~ Adore your convo volleys; your use of repetition; how MC feels like their own layered and deeply interesting character. They're really falling apart, huh? 😂 Looking forward to seeing those limits....
Being in the elite and exclusive faction that is K lovers (Kaia for me), I was pleasantly surprised how much interaction we got with them in a place you'd think wouldn't afford a lot of intimate moments! Kudos for -- Realistically (cuz we know Fae Queen be side-eying) -- weaving those in. When K used my hunter's first name, no lie, I had an Entire visceral reaction. I was like: '....whoaaa....'; kinda expected MC to scream 'HOLY SH*T!!' haha Fav bit - beyond that - had to be talk about K sitting next to MC. The - 'why? why? YES - WHY' -- Screaaaming~ Such a good meal~
Very much worth the wait and I'm grateful you're so committed to keeping up with this. Here's hoping you enjoy every fruit of your labors! ❤️

My hot take: I think K is just a far more Mature romance than many are used to/want to deal with. It’s not the ‘high school, twitterpated, doki doki in spring’ kind of route — you have to Werk. And there’s really no guarantee (beyond you making K a LI, so there must be some chance lol) that your efforts will pay off. K straight up tells you to cut that nonsense out. (There’s also ‘immortal’ bit, but I like that sort of thing.) But I’m truly rapt by my MC and K’s dynamic; how they’re so freakin REAL. I can’t wait to see all those walls crumble; bit by bit. Incremental K affection is just that rewarding~ And I feel like they have to earn my MC too. Scene I mentioned also did a great job showing K has to contribute or might lose out as well. (dum dum Duuuum)
I don't think that's a hot take at all! You're definitely right in that it's more "mature", so to say. I think a lot of people are thrown off by the lack of 'happily ever after' because yes, eventually K will move on when the Hunter is dead and they're still alive. And I totally understand that hesitation. Also yes, you have to work for it way more than some of the other ROs, with Blane being the other option who's similar. But kudos to you! I'm glad that you like them so much :)
