happy to help you resolve any writing stumbling blocks and wrote up a resource thread that can be read here as well for beginner writers and you can ask questions in that other forum thread too!

it's really good to get into the practice of finishing projects even if you "think they're shitty" bc they help you measure growth, ones that you see to the end that you can look back on as chapters in your creative timeline. nothing helps develop as a writer and a dev more than finishing smth.

lots of ppl "get stuck/discouraged" in the middle and never complete anything, so completing smth at all is an incredible accomplishment and skill of its own!

(it doesn't rly matter if one half of a project has stupendous writing bc no one can rly experience the whole thing until it's done and released.)

as far as being confident in writing goes, the emphasis should be on just getting it done no matter if u end up feeling like it's bad writing. maybe so, but you can look at in the future and use it as a goalpost to watch yourself grow!

i saw some of that resource thread in here and it was very helpful to read! thank u for typing it up

and yeah, i find myself struggling a little bit but im doing my best to ignore the me that says everything is bad, just putting stuff on paper and i'll let myself edit it later

it's good to have something as a starting point

the most any story can be expected to do is exist!

Another thing I have to add to this myself…..You don’t have to create a literary masterpiece or something for people to still enjoy it and have fun with it. Enthusiasm is enough, presenting some fun ideas to think about is enough, really X) And like Swanchime said as well, finishing projects is absolutely the best way to hone your craft. You will be able to learn from each one in some way or another.

yeah!! u rly don't have to aim for like making a Masterpiece(TM), people are more than happy to get a decent and ordinary story and have a good time! I saw in the other thread that you're aiming for a trans allegory? as a trans person I feel hopeful that something about it will resonate with some other people's own unique trans experiences.
