... I am reading many errors in both posts, even without considering you got every name wrong (Axel aside).
The lizards did not attack first at all, the first thing we see for the war arc itself is a spy keeping an eye on the bull vllage, axel, knowing this, demands we kill him and bring him his heart, effectively manipulating us because we want to enter the village; even if we do, we become "brothers" with a nice name, "Fleabag", which sticks even if we gain his respect after the war (the bulls call us "brother Fleabag"). Nauxus lets us in his village even if we meet him first and still kill his spy...
Axel demands we throw a bomb on the village, not caring much if we kill someone, while nauxus wants to reconcile with the rogues both for allies and simply for peace with them, risking his life, and trying to keep us as safe as possible, he even gets concerned if we die during it and dies himself.
Axel hangs 3 lizards just to make an example out of them, Nauxus never harms the prisoners.
Axel goes on a rampage in Selye's route, even if driven to it by his son's death (due to slimes tho, not lizards).
But, most of all, all routes keep you wary about Nauxus being manipulative or not until the arc ends, where it is revealed that he knew every single thing you had done (so he knew if you killed the spy, bombed the village, and so on!) and was legitimately lovestruck by you the moment you met him outside the tavern (even better if you had high CHA and kissed him), he meant every tease, concern for your safety and wanted to spend the night with you after the village tour, that's why he gets bitter if you went neutral route but helped the bulls more, but otherwise asks for forgiveness and tells you about his horrible childhood; if you don't forgive him, he gets really hurt emotionally, otherwise you can date him and... well, see he really likes you even better~ (unlike Axel, he demands the lizard tribe to be gone to date him). It is evident if you go fight Nauxus too, he is unable to go all out, ends up shooting a lantern to die on purpose, and you find his papers where he perfected his art to draw your portrait (throwback to those ugly squiggles in the "lesson" earlier in the route, he practiced like crazy just for you), so he chooses to burn after the only person he liked romantically and wanted to trust betrayed him like everyone else.
As for the lizards poisoning Axel through you and burning down the village... yes, pretty subtle and dire, but it was full on war at that point, at least Nauxus does send lizards to cover you and finish off Axel after you poison him, Axel did not have to do anything except sending you to kill Nauxus because Nauxus himself starts the fire (not caring about himself or a tribe that he has to rule more with respect rather than love, given how he had to become chief), i doubt Axel would have let them be though. The bulls attacking you are a bit justified by gameplay, for scenes, drops and exp even after the war, but a toggle to deactivate them by asking Axel would be good.
