Hi!
I go by the name Arno Cyreus and I'm a music composer and sound designer. I've been here for a while, some of you might have already bought my packs (thanks to everyone!) and I thought it would be cool to have a thread where I can post new stuff and updates. And I'd be more than happy to see what my music was used for, so if you did any projects with it; please share them here :D

I've finally updated some of my packs and added some new ones; Those who previously bought both the Ultra 90s and Super 16 packs can get a few free tracks (just drop me an email at arnocyreus@gmail.com, so I can check). I've also added a free dungeon synth inspired pack to the store, so be sure to grab that ;)

Store: https://arnocyreus.itch.io/

Here is a short introduction of me and what I do:
"Growing up in the 1990s, two things really shaped me as a person; My dad's record collection and the legendary Nintendo 64 me and my sister got one fateful Christmas back in 1996.
I spent many evenings playing air guitar to bands like Judas Priest, Van Halen and the Scorpions, but I also fell in love with the brilliant soundscapes of Koji Kondo, David Wise and Grant Kirkhope, as I was enchanted by the magical music that accompanied all the epic adventures those plastic cartridges held inside.
As a teenager I traded my air guitar for a real one and spent almost two decades playing in various rock and heavy metal bands, touring, writing music and doing studio work.
My love for video games and the music that inspired me decades ago never waned though, so I took all the experiences from my rockin' days and decided to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a video game composer as well!"

Below are links to some of my work.
If you're interested I am open for commissions at: arnocyreus@gmail.com
I'm also glad to just help out devs and fellow musicians with any advice on music or technical stuff!

Time for a sale!
Everything in the shop is 40% off till end of March. If you're looking for some audio for your game, this is a good chance to grab some stuff :)

STORE: https://arnocyreus.itch.io/

Also don't forget to grab a free goodie, for all your dungeon crawler adventures: https://arnocyreus.itch.io/bonfiresdungeon

I am also working on new stuff, new packs should be added soon enough!

Cheers

New music pack available!

GENERATION 298X - cyberpunk/sci-fi music pack
Intro sale, 40% off till end of March.

"You've already met Generation 198X, but the time has come to unveil it's dark and dystopian twin. Enter Generation 298X!
Generation 298X is a collection of tracks, inspired by retro sci-fi, Italian "giallo" cinema, contemporary take on cyberpunk music and dark synthwave. While still melodic and catchy, this one brings out the darker nuances of the synthpop genre. Inspired by cyberpunk, Italian thriller/slasher cinema, dark fantasy, the works of J. Carpenter and Tangerine Dream."

11 Tracks (both in loop and track format), 22 audio files, 49:49 minutes of audio provided!

Available at:
https://arnocyreus.itch.io/generation-298x

Another FREEBIE for everyone!

I've just released the "Mini Retro" music pack, which is absolutely FREE.
16 tracks, 16 loops, 16 bits! 35 minutes of nostalgia ;)

A big thanks to everyone who's downloaded both the Mini Retro and the Bonfires freebie packs!
I'm really happy so many people find them useful, I'm sure I'll come up with another one soon enough ;)

Working on some cool projects at the moment, but I wanted to do a shoutout to SoundFontGuy for creating the GuyEngine plug-in!
I've always loved the sound of PSX/1/2 and N64/Gamecube the most when it comes to retro games and while I've used my own samples and old romplers in the past, I think I'll get a lot of mileage and fun out of this :)
Here's a quick piece I wrote as a test, echoing the sounds of PS1 era RPGs an adventure games :)
Since my "Adventure 64" pack was a hit, I just might come up with volume 2...

Been doing some oldschool DnB lately and having immense fun!
This was the sound of my childhood/early teens and I miss it, especially in racing games :)
If anyone is doing a racing game and digging the sounds, I'd LOVE to work on that :)))

I have quite a few of these lined up, so I think a DnB music pack will be in order soon :D

Here's a teaser, I even went an tried Blender for the first time so I could model a wonky low-poly ship, WipEout style!

A small tribute to two of my favorite games growing up, Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark!
Another style I'd be totally down to score a game in... Would anyone be at least interested in a music pack? πŸ˜Ž

Cheers!

Some nostalgic PS2 era life/simulator/lobby/city building music πŸ˜Ž

Love taking inspiration from the MegaDrive/Genesis chip πŸ‘Ύ

Here's an example of adaptive/dynamic sci-fi ambience. This stuff poses a different set of challenges than writing "traditional" soundtracks, but it's also a lot of fun :)
This is also something I'd love to explore more in a proper project (hint, hint!), either this or something dark fantasy themed!

A love letter to both the GT series and vintage racing :) Not every race is a sprint, so enjoy this lounge/lobby track!

I'm thrilled to introduce a new Youtube series, aptly titled MIDNIGHT MODE!

Every Monday, we will explore a new fictional video game setting, with the main theme being the night. This journey will take us through different levels, consoles and even generations and YOUR help will be greatly appreciated!
Leave a comment with your preferred setting (you can add lore, details and console generation, be creative!) and I'll pick one for the next video in the series :)

MIDNIGHT MODE #01 - Streets of Ventura
"This ambient piece comes from a fictional video game called BioSpector, specifically the level 2 where you get to explore the corrupt streets of Ventura at night. Hailed as the spiritual successor to the original Deus Ex, the game delved even deeper into the "immersive sim" game mechanics. Ultimately the game was not a commercial success but remains a favorite of a small group of devoted fans."

DARK SOULS series has some great music, but my favorite have always been the hub tunes like Firelink Shrine and Majula. This is an original theme in this style, but it only has 32 bits! :) You may rest and replenish your vigor and vitality, but the Undead Curse still looms in the dark corners of the realm...

Here is the second track in the Midnight Mode series :)

"Midnight Paddock"
I've already introduced the main theme from the fictional Riviera Downshift, but now we're deep into it's extensive "career mode"! After many races and trials, you are finally ready to tackle the final sprint. It is a beautiful summer evening and your upgraded car is waiting at the paddock, while you're sipping on your drink and chilling on the grass at T2 of the infamous Riviera Raceway. No matter the outcome tomorrow, you've come far from your humble beginnings...

Just having some fun with my synths and GT4...
Sorry for the reckless driving, but it's been a while! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Ύ

Some more DnB sounds with GT4 gameplay 😎
I recorded and mixed this one on an old TASCAM 8-track, just for fun!

For this Midnight Mode, I decided to do a little tribute to one of my favorites.
I was already hooked on 80s rock at the time, but this game made me fall in love with the look, the sound and the feel of 1980s.

It's 1986, the evening before the big showdown at the mansion. The tension is palpable, but the music and the drinks keep the feelings at bay.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring, this is Vice City after all...

Another 8 bit inspired synthwave/chiptune track :) This time with some Afterburner!

Here's a cool puzzle game I had the pleasure to score!
You can already try the demo on Steam πŸ‘Ύ
The soundtrack is on my Youtube channel as well 😎

"Two left, rocks inside, DON'T CUT!" πŸ˜Ž

Y2K Deathmatch Techno, recorded on an old tascam 488 cassette recorder πŸ‘Ύ
Welcome to Midnight Mode #05!

JUNE SALE!
Everything in my catalogue is 50% right now, with a special bundle price of 25$.
https://itch.io/s/154580/june-sale

I'm finishing up a couple of new packs in the mean time, with one of them being another freebie! πŸ‘Ύ
On that note, what kind of a freebie would you be interested in the future? If there is interest for
a specific pack, I might just be able to oblige ;)

Midnight Mode number 6 takes us back to the good ole' days of SNES ❀️ We follow the adventures of Brave Sir Rabbit on his quest to restore the order in the Carrot Kingdom, where shadow has been cast and silly things have taken command. Our bunny protagonist will have to use his platforming skills and the help of other residents of the Kingdom to beat the conundrum at hand! This is the overworld track that plays during the night time, as our furry hero departs to pay a visit to his wizard friend.

Some gothic metroidvania vibes with this one πŸ‘Ύ
This track and many more are included in my Super90s pack, which is currently on sale with my other packs. 😎

Midnight Mode no.7 brings another PS1 style underwater ambience πŸ¬πŸŸπŸ‹ Let's explore some shipwrecks in the deep blue ;)
This MIGHT also be a little hint of an upcoming freebie music pack as well πŸ˜Ž

(1 edit)

As promised...
I am happy to present another freebie!

AQUA MEMORY is a PS1/PS2 inspired aquatic ambient music pack, that features 6 seamless loops.
Two tracks come from the "Super90s" pack, one is from the popular "Adventure 64" pack and three are brand new and exclusive to this one πŸ¬πŸŸπŸ‹
I hope you hop to the link below, grab the free pack and use the music in anyway you like πŸ₯°

https://arnocyreus.itch.io/aqua-memory

For Midnight Mode no.8 I had some more fun with the always amazing GuyEngine v2. We're out of the water this time, but not out of suspense...
This ambient track is my tribute to Silent Hill and Parasite Eve and is styled as a "lost audio file" from an old abandonware survival/horror game πŸ“»

We are already at Midnight Mode no.9!
This time I tried to capture the feeling of the PS2 BIOS/Start-up sound, but with a DnB twist πŸ‘Ύ
It's 2000 and you just got your PS2. After a lengthy session of gaming you fall asleep on the couch, with the machine still running...
The sound of the BIOS menu merges with the sounds of your dreams; Welcome to BIOSphere 🌍

New release daySEQUENCE 2!

A collection of 6 SEGA Megadrive/Genesis inspired loops + start up sound effect πŸ‘Ύ

Any love for the ol' little purple box? πŸ‘Ύ
Midnight Mode 10 is a GameCube style hub theme, where one can save all the progress,

pause for a moment and admire the lovely low poly skybox!

Ten weeks ago I challenged myself to write a night themed track every Monday and I called the series "Midnight Mode". πŸŒ™
I've decided to make a playlist of the tracks every 10 episodes and here's volume 1 πŸ‘Ύ

"CRT scan lines, moonlight and the sound of nostalgia! πŸŒ€πŸ’ΏπŸŒ™

Some tracks are included in my already available packs, some are on the way...
But if there's any track you'd fancy using in your game, drop me a message and I will be happy to help πŸ‘Ύ

Midnight Mode no.11 takes us back to the late 90s and explores the sounds of the legendary Nintendo 64!
Welcome to "Neon Nocturne", a rhythm platformer inspired both by the sounds and looks of the 1980s. Neon reflects on the horizon as we ascend the towering skyscrapers of Nocturne City. 🏒

Bizmuth 3D model by Jangusdunch (https://jangusdunch.itch.io/bismuth)

I've decided to put up MIDNIGHT MODE vol.1 as a FREE pack as well! πŸ˜Ž
I post here often and I met a lot of wonderful people on the platform, so this
is sort of my way of thanking each and everyone for the support πŸ‘Ύ

All tracks come in both standalone and loop format and there's 52:29 minutes of audio inside.
Grab the freebie here:

This one was in the works for a while, but I'm finally able to share it with you:
Welcome to AERODRIFT!
This soundtrack is inspired by the Wipeout series of anti-gravity racing and features 8 DnB/House/Techno tracks that set that liquid atmosphere of the 90s! πŸ’Ώ

57:18 of audio provided (standalone and loops); Pair this one with the free "Aqua Memory" soundtrack and you're set for a trip to the low poly era of 32bit games!
Available at: https://arnocyreus.itch.io/aerodriftpsx

For Midnight Mode 12, Kauan suggested we visit the Andromeda galaxy...
But there is a little twist!
"You have picked up a distress signal somewhere in the Andromeda and it's coming from a "Citadel" type carrier, a ship that is considered obsolete and hasn't been spotted in this decade... Heck, century. But the ship has been slowly taken over by it's sentient AI, awoken from it's slumber and slowly regaining it's memory. All it needs is a clueless human, to finalize the data transfer and unleash chaos. In space, sanity is optional. Fear is not."

New soundtrack!

What started as a small GT4 tribute and a test of a new instrument, quickly turned into a full on retro racing worship πŸ˜„
My love for vintage racing is equal to my love for video games and music, so this ties it all together.
From the classic British saloon car racing, retro F1 and all the way to the Circuit de la Sarthe of the infamous Le Mans 24h.
Inspired by the GT franchise, R4, Colin McRae Rally and many more!

7 tracks in loop and standalone format + startup sequence SFX!

https://arnocyreus.itch.io/downshift

For Midnight Mode #13, Mr Rowboto suggested a track inspired by the Flashback: Quest for Identity OST, for either Amiga or Megadrive. Since I've done quite a few Megadrive/Genesis tracks I went with the Amiga... But then I thought it would also sound killer on the Megadrive and did that as well! This episode thus turned into an epic battle between the systems, a battle of bits if you will πŸ‘Ύ

If you have any suggestions where Midnight Mode should go next, drop a comment under the YT video! The general theme is NIGHT/DARK, but you can suggest any setting, genre and console/platform πŸ‘Ύ
I'll release a FREE Midnight Mode album/pack every 10 episodes and you can help me shape each and every one πŸ’œ

Since thunderstorms loomed over this past weekend, there was little to do but play Elden Ring and watch some LOTR (extended of course!). That's why I've decided to take this episode of Midnight Mode (#14) into the dungeons!

Midnight Mode #15 remains in the realm of fantasy, but it's out of the dungeon and into the open world!
I wanted to do something that would play during world exploration, specially in the evening and at night time.
Inspired by some of my favorites, such as Gothic I & II, Diablo II and some of Zelda's more ambient tracks.

We got 5 more until the next Midnight Mode soundtrack/pack is complete, so what would you like to see next?
I am happy to consider any suggestions and I'd love your help with these FREE Midnight Mode packs!
You can choose the setting, genre and even the platform/console style; The only constant is the dark/night theme πŸŒ™

We're already at Midnight Mode #16! Time sure does fly when you're having fun :D Today we're taking a trip to the neon circuit for a midnight race, so buckle up and rev the engine. Had a great time with this one, I finally got around to test UAD's PolyMAX in a proper track πŸ‘Ύ

Where should we go next?

NEW SOUNDTRACK RELEASE!

Welcome to Crestfall, traveler. Beyond the gates lies a vast place of tremendous wonder. But be wary of the shadows...

This soundtrack includes 10 tracks, inspired by the likes of Gothic, Zelda, Vagrant Story, TES and the Dark Souls series.
All tracks come in both loop and standalone format, 55:28 minutes of audio provided!

I'm really happy with this one and I'm thrilled to share it with you, so I'm marking it's release with a 50% SALE on everything
in my store, including Crestfall!
https://arnocyreus.itch.io/

It's Monday, so that means it's Midnight Mode time!
This one (no.17!) is fresh out of the oven, as I have quite a few things to work on and this track was a fun little break between commissions!

"Ah, Ver Dan... Its soothing waterfalls, its calm atmosphere and the singing of birds I have not seen before nor after.
And the Elven craftsmanship of its golden gates!
But it is the dim lit harbours that my soul is drawn to, as if the waves of the ocean call my name and bind me to a place that exists far away.
Ah, to see it once more..."

(1 edit)

Another Monday, another Midnight Mode (no.18)! I wanted to do something different this time, so I lost a couple of bits and reached deep into my chip sound toolbox πŸ‘Ύ I tried to capture the feeling of an oldschool CRPG/dungeon crawler, stuff like Ultima Underworld and TES Arena!

I can't believe we're already at week 19!
Just one more to go and I'll release another free Midnight Mode compilation :)
This time I revisited my childhood and tried to do a little tribute to something that got me hooked on video games and video game music in the first place!
Of course that thing was Ocarina of Time and it's wonderful music; I specially enjoyed the Water Temple and Shadow Temple themes... Hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed making it :)

It's been raining for a few days, so I've been summoned to the dungeons once again...
Another chiptune inspired dungeon crawling track πŸ‘Ύ
If anyone wants to use the track for a game, let me know as I'd be happy to help!
I'd also be up for a game jam in the future if anyone's interested πŸ‘Ύ

It's been another 10 weeks and this is the last Midnight Mode of the set, rounding up the MM Volume II compilation!
I'll release Volume II by the end of the week and it will be absolutely FREE, just like the first one πŸ˜‰
Thanks for sticking around for another round πŸ’™

in the mean time, enjoy "Aquarium After Hours", a PS2/Dreamcast inspired aqua-lobby ambiance 🐬

NEW RELEASE!

Another 10 weeks have passed, so here's another batch of tracks; MIDNIGHT MODE Volume 2.
I have fond memories of the old PSX/PC demo disc days, so this is an Arno Cyreus demo disc, if you will :D
That also means, it's ABSOLUTELY FREE!

Midnight Mode continues on Monday, thanks for tuning in πŸ‘Ύ
https://arnocyreus.itch.io/midnightmode2

Midnight Mode continues, this time way up in the sky!
Welcome to Skyport Island Resort, don't forget to save your progress ;)

Midnight Mode #22
I woke up today with a strong urge to make something with less bits than usual πŸ‘Ύ After an unhealthy dose of morning coffee and messing around with sounds, I came up with "Type 8B"! It's an 8bit racing title, focused on night time street racing. I guess I'm showing my age a bit, because I channeled all my memories of playing Street Rod 2 a long time ago! πŸ˜‚

City pixel art by Ansimuz πŸ‘Ύ
Spinning cartridge model by Jonathan ZuΓ±iga πŸ‘Ύ

New release day! πŸ’Ώ

I'm really happy to release "SkyPort Island" today :)
This is a PSX/N64 inspired soundtrack, featuring 6 loops that go for that classic adventure and RPG sound.
Villages, towns, stores and checkpoints; it's all here!
Available in my store

This week's theme is Dreamcast vaporware! πŸŒ€πŸ˜Ž

Midnight Mode #24
All Midnight Mode episodes are usually written and produced on the day of release; That's a big part of the challenge and while I might have an idea in my head, it's all done in the moment!
However, this week is a bit different as I had this piece written and mostly done, it just needed some touching up and a bit of production polish :)
The track was written for a project that sadly won't be happening and I really like it, so I thought I'd take the chance to share it with you and of course make it available for free once the Midnight Mode Vol.3 drops!
Although if you really like it (or any other track from the past episodes) and want to use it, drop me an email ;) arnocyreus@gmail.com
My love for System Shock and the original Deus Ex shines through this one once again!

Midnight Mode number 25!
We're halfway to releasing Volume 3, time flies so fast it's crazy :D

Today I came up with another y2k arena/tournament shooter inspired track, I can't count the number of hours I spent playing "Facing Worlds" with my friends back in the day! So... Let's get to it!
These Midnight Mode tracks get released for FREE every 10 weeks. But if you'd like to use any of the tracks (also for free) before the compilation drops, drop me an email at arnocyreus@gmail.com and I'd be happy to share it with you early!

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for the next track, I'd be happy to oblige as well; It has to be night/dark related but everything else is up to you ;)

A SNES inspired loop I made for a fun game jam platformer :)
My love for those amazing 90s Rare soundtracks is on full display, so I hope you dig it :D

It's Monday, so that means MIDNIGHT MODE! :)
This week I'm heading to the Jungle Realm for some PSX inspired ambient sounds.
If you'd like to use the track in your game, don't hesitate to ask; All Midnight Mode tracks are
free and ready for use :)
Until next time!

Another Monday, another Midnight Mode!
Welcome to another fictional PSX soundtrack, this time we're exploring the action packed level one of a Mecha game for the PlayStation. This is only level 1, so gear up on ammo and health packs because things are going to get hot!
I think this one might be a good start for Sequence 3...

As always, If you'd like to use this one (or any other Midnight Mode tracks) for your game, just hit me up :)

Midnight Mode 28

I haven't done a dungeon synth piece in a while, so I thought it would be cool to delve into the low polygon dungeons once again :)
Come, let's wander the damp and dimly lit corridors together!

MIDNIGHT MODE #29

Time to replenish your vigor and vitality, traveler. Save your progress and enjoy a moment of warmth at the hearth of Wayfarer Inn.
Tis nothing but treacherous mountains and strange happenings beyond the city walls, specially at night...

Just one more to go until Midnight Mode 3 drops, what would you like to see for the last one?

Here's the final episode of Midnight Mode volume 3! This "American Truck Simulator meets Silent Hill" track was written for a Halloween themed compilation, featuring one of my favorite looking trucks - the awesome Pete 351!
While it wasn't written specifically for Midnight Mode, I reckoned it fits the theme and makes for a cool closure to MM volume 3.

Thank you once again for tuning in, you are the best!

Midnight Mode volume 3 is out!

Here's the third batch of tracks from my Midnight Mode challenge, where I write a night themed track
every Monday and then release the soundtrack as a free asset pack :)
Feel free to grab the soundtrack here and use it in any way you see fit!

Midnight Mode 3

Midnight Mode episode 31!
We're leaving the world of consoles for a moment and departing to the world of y2k PC gaming. This one could be a background loop for a dark fantasy themed RPG or a turn-based strategy with fantasy elements. Thanks for tuning in, hope you enjoy it!

MIDNIGHT MODE 32:

I finally got the chance to play around with Super Audio Cart 2 and all the N64 presets/sounds really pulled me into the "adventure begins" vibe this time around :D So here it is, an intro/title screen to a fictional adventure/RPG game!

Midnight Mode 33

After a few fantasy oriented episodes, it's time to leave the castle ruins and head to... Well, post apocalyptic ruins!
Let's explore an abandoned facility for potential loot and upgrades, but remember; The surface could turn up to be
more dangerous than anticipated...

This one is an homage to all the good old dungeon crawlers from both the past and today. I envisioned it as a title screen theme of a game running in MS DOS, but I think it could work in other scenarios as well.
Thanks for tuning in, you are the BEST!

This is the last episode of Midnight Mode for 2025, so I'd like to take this moment to thank YOU ALL for the great support!
I met a lot of great people through this platform and even had the pleasure to work on some really cool projects.

Enjoy your Holidays and a Happy New Year to all; Midnight Mode will return in 2026!

We're kicking of 2026 with a SNES/N64 inspired title screen theme for a fictional adventure/fantasy game

Midnight Mode #36: Forest Dwellers (Title Screen)

I really wanted to do something Nintendo 64 inspired today as it is my all time favorite console, yet for some reason I always end up writing stuff inspired by other systems πŸ˜‚ I guess it's time to fix that today!
Midnight Mode 37:

And we're back to PS1 vibes!
Here's a car select screen theme for a fictional racing game for the PSX:

BIOS update; Welcome to BIOSphere 2.0!
Hope you enjoy this atmospheric DnB track, inspired by the PS1 once again :D
Recorded on an old Tascam 8 track, just for fun.

Until next time!

Here's some PS2 inspired DnB/Synthwave πŸ‘ΎπŸ˜Š
I've also made a little montage to go along with the music for this one.
This one also wraps up the Midnight Mode volume 4 collection, which I'll be releasing
later this week; For FREE, as always!

Midnight Mode Volume 4 is now out!
It's FREE as always, for both your listening pleasure and commercial use in games :)

Graba a copy HERE!

It's Monday and Midnight Mode continues!

This time we're opening with an ambient/exploration Dungeon Synth/Dark Fantasy track.
I'm also having tons of fun learning Aseprite and pixel art in general, so I've med a shoddy little
background/animation to go along with the tune :D

Thanks for tuning in!

+++Outrider's Oath out now!+++

Take the oath and venture into a dark fantasy world, straight from an 80s VHS!
It's absolutely FREE, so you're welcome to grab a copy in my itch store:
https://arnocyreus.itch.io/outriders-oath-dungeon-synth-soundtrack

Starting the week with some DnB sounds, so I hope you enjoy this one.
Any resemblance to the mid 1990s is purely intentional!

Some Dark Souls inspired sounds this time :)
Hope you enjoy this atmospheric dungeon synth track, just don't go hollow!

Working on a SEGA Mega-CD inspired soundtrack, so here's a snippet from the album :D

I usually just indulge in making fake soundtracks for games that don't exist,
but I went full on this time and made a fake game in Gdevelop as well πŸ˜„
All credits for the pixel art go to the awesome Ansimuz!

More dungeon sounds coming soon as well...

Back to the dungeons!
Recorded on an old Tascam 8-track :D
Got more stuff like this lined up, so a new dungeon synth soundtrack is shaping up nicely :)

Here's another Mega CD inspired tune! The soundtrack is slowly coming together, along with another dungeon synth EP βš”

Back to the dungeons it is!
This one was recorded using only the Korg Poly 800 and some hand percussion :D

+++LORDRAN TAPES+++
New FREE soundtrack available!

The inspiration for this one is quite obvious, so enjoy the quest and please don't go hollow...
5 tracks in both full and loop format, 32:29 minutes of audio included :)
Available here: https://arnocyreus.itch.io/lordrantapes
