I entirely agree. And honestly, it gave me a bit of the ick when people seemed so up in arms about it.

There are SO. MANY. Visuals novels where there are visible white/white passing playable characters. And black/darkerskinned individuals never complain. Ever. It was the artists choice and we understood that and had fun anyway.

I understand the want, but there is a time and a place. And this or ANY devs game is NOT! IT! Make yo own game. Putting yo own work. Create yo own dream and story to tell because this one is again…NOT YOURS.

Regardless, I’m happy you stood by your choice and let other black girls see that we are also allowed in this space and world. Representation matters even with a little backlash. 🧡

i’m really sorry if what i said came off the wrong way ,that wasn’t my intention at all. i totally understand where you’re coming from, especially if it feels like something deeper is being ignored.The “:)” wasn’t meant to be rude or passive, and i feel bad that it seemed that way. i was just sharing my opinion and i like using emoji symbols, but i get that i could’ve worded it better. and i wasnt trying to complain at all!! and im really sorry if it seemed that way

I shouldn't have been quick to snap, I apologize. Your opinion is valid and understandable, sometimes people really do just make everything abt race when it's completely off topic. It takes away from when people speak up towards actual racism ----- I felt as though the person was on point and that there was some form of racism in people being so upset about not being able to self-insert in this game, you saying "we don't need to bring race into this" frustrated me because of that.

i get your point, but why are you assuming that the people who want to self insert are white? all that means is they don't feel they look like her, they could literally still be black but have an entirely different look and aesthetic so maybe it throws them off. or maybe they're asian, or hispanic, or literally anything but white. i think thats why the other commenter mentioned that your point about race was unnecessary. its not unnecessary to talk about race in general in regards to the story, it IS good for representation to have a default black woman as a character, so i don't actually care in terms of "needing" to self insert even if i prefer it. but assuming the people wanting to self insert are white or white passing isn't really fair either
