Ongoing Comic Updates: How it Works?

I have a 20 to 30 page comic planned. I intend to post the fix first pages completely free on my social media, and have the rest of the project for-purchase on this platform.

I am nowhere near done with the comic. I'll be starting page seven soon. How would I set up the project here and add pages as I go? Is this possible? Because I would like it that whoever purchased the comic, will automatically get the new pages without having to pay for it again.

Any advice will help!

Adding a comic page by page is impractical on itch.io, but if you add new books (for example) to a comic, people who already bought it will be able to download them at no additional cost.

I would essentially be uploading a new e-book/flipbook with the added page. So it'd be just an updated file. Hopefully this makes sense.

The term "page" can be confusing because it could refer to a webpage and/or a page of your comic.

Regarding your question, create a single paid project on Itch. Anyone who purchases that project can download all the files and updates you upload to that project without paying anything else.

That is, you can update your comic's file (ebook, PDF, zip, etc.) or even upload each page of your comic as a separate file (I don't recommend this), and your clients will always be able to download the latest material without any problems.

Be careful, if you set the project as free on Itch and then set a price per file, it could be complicated to manage; it's best to make your project paid.

Thanks for the advice.

And yes, I would make it paid and upload the latest flipbook/-book file with the newest page addition.
