This was really great! And I was just in a very fairy-tale mood, too…

You pulled from so many different story/fairy-tale archetypes, and built something together with them that really pulled at my heartstrings in so short a time.
I really mean it; to some extent, it felt bit like in High School Lolita, with the contrast between the pastel/storybook presentation and all the pain and anger violence underneath it all… I found it very effective and moving; but also very funny at times (I love Caleb’s himbo energy), and thankfully hopeful too.

Hi Rastagong, sorry for the belated answer! I did indeed want to base the story on fairy tale archetypes to operate a deconstruction of those to narrate Amaia's path to freedom (which is somehow also represented by her changing the classical narrative one would expect froma  fairy tale).

And the comparison with High School Lolita is very touching, thank you! I'll admit I felt a very similar sense of excitation working on this game, in a way I hadn't felt since working on High School Lolita indeed! Perhaps The Dragon Princess ended up a bit more """gore""", but overall, a less dark story, since it focuses on Amaia getting better, while HSL narrates Chloé's abusive relationship! Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts, they mean a lot!
