There's no need to add a demo for each plugin type, effects work on the textures rendered, regardless of the plugin.
In this video I use my drop shadow extensively. You can scroll to min 2:20. Note the progress bar mesh, drop shadow is being rendered for the whole UI. This is a 2D set of effects.
