Hey
This is a surprisingly great game. The motions and movement is super smooth. I will admit I couldn't score even one goal because I couldn't generate any power. I think that might need some improvement because the CPU just smacks the ball and I couldn't figure out how to.

I don't know if there was any music so can't comment on that but still this was actually a lot of fun. This is also one of the type of games I would like to learn to make so if you ever write a blog or video on how this was made, you at least got one viewer
Good luck

Hello! Teaching how to play the game is always very difficult in all kind of productions, game jams are no exception. In order to deflect incoming balls you must use the deflect command (either X on XBox controller or left mouse button or left shift key on mouse&keyboard). The closer the ball is to the character when you deflect, the faster the ball will go. This speed can also be increased if you hit the deflect during or right after a dash command (A on XBox controller, right mouse button or space on mouse&keyboard).

There is music and sound, the problem is a small bug with the settings. It was my first time implementing settings that are saved automatically, but for some reason the downloaded version of the game ignores the default settings and sets everything (including volumes and special effects) to 0/false. If you want to give it another go, try changing the settings to fix the volume and add frame freeze/camera shake. This might improve the experience, as there are some audio cues and the frame freeze can help react to faster shots.

I was planning to write some kind of blog post about the whole process, I'm happy to hear you might be interested. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for taking the time to play the game and comment, I appreciate it!

Cheers
