I liked the idea. I went through the portals but couldn't figure out how to advance in the game. I also struggled to talk to the characters.

To progress through the game, you need to talk to the characters on the islands and collect story fragments. Sometimes you have to get up close to the character so they can see you and you can see them too.
If you’ve already gone through the portals but haven’t received any clues, you may need to give a fragment to its corresponding character. Every story fragment has its owner!
