Hello! I streamed your game, and here's a summary of what I think about the game:
I appreciated the story: the idea is unique and simple. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to develop after the initial parts, at least in the hour I played.
The dialogues unfortunately don't help: the cat felt the only one with some personality, since most of the dialogues are just informative instead of showcasing the character personalities. (But I liked the turtle!)
Even if the gameplay is pretty similar to the default one, the usage of the mastery of the skills and the "orbs" helped a lot making it more interesting. Even the ability to level up in the middle of the battle is pretty cool.
The idea of separate healing for the characters is a good way to incentivize resource management, but unfortunately there's a huge risk of softlock since you could save anywhere and you might be out of resources to heal fallen characters with no way to win a fight.
Good job on making the game! Though to stand out in a game jam I would suggest to use something slightly less standard than a classic RPG battle system.
