Hey there! I got to finish the stream of the end of my game. You were in the last part, the mini-boss was the end.
It was interesting having someone play and critique the game. My playtesters have been testing my games for awhile, sadly none have ever been completed because the scale is huge. I thought this contest would help me reign it in, which it did in some ways.
Tutorials, in the future I do want to work on making them put into the menu so more text in game can just be characters. I see what you mean by that part of it for sure.
Some stuff at the end I didn't get to comment on in the video was the status effects, if you went into the status menu in the battle, you can see the effects and what they are and do. The hearts you had on the boss was actually a new feature I put in right at the end. My friend was paralyzing the mini boss over and over, stun locking him. So now, when an effect comes off, the target is immune to that effect, negative only, for 3 turns. It lets both the boss and allies have some time to fight back.
The orbs do level over time and there are 100 that I already built at the beginning. I planned all skills and orbs out right away. It lets me just keep working faster on content when all I have to do is add to inventory and it activates it automatically. Later you will have to pick and choose which to equip on who and there is five weapons per party member. They are all the same power and stat increase but each has a different bonus that helps that party member do there role better in some way.
I wanted to turn down the battles a bit especially in that big zone but I didn't want to fully upload the game again and risk missing deadline or having it crash on me at the finish line.
I'm upset the escape isn't working currently due to last minute issue. I think it is plugin issues messing with itself. So I am going to have them get that worked on in time.
The story does end up going into some crazy unexpected places, but there was only so much time to make the game in a month. That is for the future.
Oh yes and the status effects again, so they start out barely popping up on an enemy because they go up in amount of time as you master the skill. Tho I think I need to up it a little after watching the stream, tho that feature came right at the end (the status effect stuff) so future balancing after contest for sure.
