Thank you very much for playing! I really appreciate it! I agree about getting stuck on the walls. I was aware of the issue myself as I got stuck often in my own testing, but I didn’t feel I had the time to fine tune it. The code for handling walls was… hacky at best, lol. As far as toggling reverse, I am definitely hearing that from others. I’m surprised, to be honest. It never occurred to be that would be an issue. If you’re willing to elaborate on what issue you had with the reverse system, I’d love to hear it. But even if not, again, I thank you for your feedback and giving my game a play!
I feel that on the walls, you should see some of the hacky code I had to put together to get the train spawning in our game to work lol. For the reversing, I think it's and issue of intuitiveness. This may be more of a me issue than anyone else, but I felt like I was always expecting the car to go back to forward movement as soon as I released the q-key. It may be an issue of how other driving games have trained my brain to think.
The Hacky Code Club!! It’s not a game jam without some “WTF” inducing code! :D
Thank you for explaining your experience with the reverse issue. So, for you, it was more the feeling that reverse should have required the button be held down, instead of it being a simple press-to-toggle. Ok, I can see that, and I can definitely see some people preferring that method. Thank you again!
