Update: I played through the game with a select group of friends I trust with this kind of media. We all loved it and most of us cried by the end. (There was no onanism to my knowledge lol, though I know at least one of them is going back to read it on their own time.) Afterwards we discussed the story a lot more, holding kind of a book club meeting of sorts about it. It was good, a good discussion. The story didn't resonate quite as much with the one of us who wasn't an esoteric trans lesbian, but even he liked it.

Thanks for this gift of a game.

thank you thank you thank you thank you so much for your words <3<3<3<3

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN YOU DID A BOOK CLUB THING ABOUT IT
THIS IS INSANE

I LOVE YOU DFJHGBJDFG

(hilarious how the one token non-trans lesbian didn't resonate as much with it dfhjgjfd)

I read both of your comments and they're so lovely. I am so glad that One and Anhedonia felt so real to you, and feel fucking honored to get to be part of "those games". those visceral secret morsels of inspirations us freaks all have <3

I agree that some more CGs would've been nice for some scenes, but that's also just part of development limitations sadly. Also ty for the other feedback! going back to fix typos isn't really part of my working schedule rn but it's always good to know uwu

Hahahaha, by "book club thing" I meant that we discussed it in detail after reading it—the ending, the politics of it, the emotional core, why it resonated with us, why we liked it, the thesis if there was any. the 'token' was convinced that all life on Myopia was ended with the sun calling, while the rest of us weren't so sure due to Spectra's arranging a getaway. I felt that the emotional core of it was definitely a lot of bitterness from mistreatment of what you love, a sort of hate only love could create, a despair only hope could sustain. One of my friends said after the first few scenes "I'm afraid to continue, because I don't want anything to happen to them, they're so cute" and started crying at the hilltop goodbye, saying "goddammit, why do you always pick such sad games"; I guess I have a type, ehehe... It was really great, I might write a dissection of this on my blog at some point. I'll link it here in the comments if I do.
