That's a tough one. I've had the same thing happen to me for SlashCore/BloodBlade. It's 4 times now. All I want to do is make this fairly small sports game, ahhh gee.
Anyway - Unreal is a beast to work out by yourself. Tutorials on YouTube may help but sometimes there are things that, you need assistance with.
For me, I love creating stories in my head too, but then trying to convey the idea to a programmer can be really difficult.
Sometimes they get the idea. Sometimes they don't. And sometimes they deliberately do the wrong thing, and then expect to be paid. So now, I'm going to do the hard thing and - essentially give up looking for programmers. I'm going to use GKC asset in Unity for maybe - 3 more projects, and then I'm stopping my game dev ventures (might get back to it one day).
