If you've turned on the new "unload textures" setting, that's expected behaviour. 

You can pin the layer so that doesn't happen, or increase the unload timeout. 

If you haven't turned on the "unload textures" option then it is indeed a bug and I'll look into it!

didn't know this was now an option now, but it seems like it still happens even when the option's unchecked
