the issue still persisted and images wouldn't load whatsoever after unloading, however after i tried a fresh copy of rahituber w/o previous configs/settings/etc., the issue no longer happens. may have just been an issue caused by settings from an older version. thank you for the quick support!

there seems to be an issue where the talk image automatically unloads after a while of not talking

the file path itself doesn't unload so the image loads in as soon as i talk, but this causes the model to go invisible for a bit, noticeably longer if the filesize is larger, like for spritesheets
