i've been through two character routes (jack & syd, going to do the sayyida next!) and oh my god. it's absolutely amazing how this is free? the fact there are branching paths with how lengthy this novel is is amazing!! i had so much fun just doing jack & syd, i want to replay them try the other paths - the fact there's six more characters are insane. you don't shy on sharing all the lore & worldbuilding either! this is amazing!! 😭 this reawakened my love for pirates, as well. i'm so curious as to the entire process of how you wrote this.... if you ever post something about that, i'd love to read it!
Aw, thank you very much! Tbh, most of the process of writing was...picture me sitting at a computer screen after working my full-time job writing 25k words a week for like 6/7 months until I had 700k words of absolute nonsense. Then two and a half years of editing :D
The process of coming up with the actual concepts, though...I already had all of these characters from the ttrpg we play, so it was just a matter of arranging them into a way that made sense for new players, and how someone might get to know them over the course of three acts. It was fun to play with!
