So they either decided it's not worth being such a greedy piece of shit or their patreons dropped significantly so they finally had to release a update after almost 1 year of no updates and 5 month's of no communication. Then also delaying updates for weeks and months with no explanation or excuse as  well as splitting updates in 2 parts for seemingly no reason. Congrats guys, you are ruining your own business.

What are you talking about. 6 months is a pretty normal release cycle for a lot of games on there.  Games with no animations or AI art can get stuff out faster, and some bigger teams / super obsessed people can do 3 month cycles, but 6 months is fairly normal. There's also a lot of games that do 1 update a year, or popular games that have been stuck for a year or more with no updates at all, so you're either new to these types of games, or just a karen.

No I've been following this game pretty much from the start for 2 or 2 and a half years now and I really like this game honestly. It's probably my 2md favorite after Phoenixes but this game should have gotten the 0.24 update a year ago already but Hexa decided to split it into 2 parts and then the 0.25 update was delayed up until now because he was looking for more sponsors even though he already has over 3000 patreons and the update was promised to release way sooner already. I of course don't know what exactly is going on behind the scenes but that they are just quite for almost half a year with no status updates or anything is really not well managed.

And there's also enough other people in the comments under the actual game from 2 and more months ago that stated their problems aswell even with Screenshots that show proof of what is going on and ye honestly I just feel like hexatail is getting a bit too greedy with the game development

Your opinion is definitely valid, and I appreciate you speaking up about it—many people feel similarly when devs go silent for months. But I’d like to offer a different angle. Maybe we could give the developer a bit more benefit of the doubt. Version 0.25 dropped with a ton of new content—new storylines, scenes, even gameplay mechanics—so it’s clear the time wasn’t wasted.

Sure, the lack of communication for months can be frustrating, especially for those who support the project financially. But that doesn’t always mean the dev is being greedy or lazy. From what I can tell, Hexatail might be working solo or with a very small team, and prioritizing quality over quantity takes time. There was even a public statement about how their previous ‘Content Voting’ system slowed them down, and that they’re now shifting focus to faster, more flexible updates.

I agree that delays without any explanation don’t sit well—especially in a Patreon-supported model—but at the same time, we’re getting a game that looks and feels polished, with unique storylines and characters. That’s not something every dev delivers consistently in the adult VN scene.

I’m not trying to dismiss your frustration. It’s totally fair to be disappointed after waiting so long. I just think there’s room for both critique and patience—because this game really does have potential, and I’d hate to see the community tear it apart when it’s still growing.
