Honestly I came up with the concept quickly and went with it because my art style is very dreamy/surreal. I think the mind assassin idea could be cool for a more fleshed out setting.
I think the idea is very cool, finding the right part of the brain / the correct emotion or memory to tamper with. Your style definitely fits your concept :)
