Sorry about that, it's a weird bug that I have yet to track down the cause of! If you save on the Pit screen and then close and reopen the game it should properly show what it's supposed to show.
Make the alluring potion but have some bark. It should show an extra option on that page that says," Add Greenthorn Bark to the cauldron to create Alluring Base". Then use that as a medium.
