I honestly liked the overall design and gameplay. A couple of gameplay sections were frustrating, but that's kinda the point of the game, right? Overall good, sometimes quite creative. Nice lore being fed into it, you get a good impression about the world and what is happening there, your imagination does the rest.

But the ending ruins it for me. Big time. I'll explain why. And I'll try to be detailed so it would be a good feedback for what it's worth.

First... Nothing really highlights that this is a sad game with sad ending. Dramatic? Hell yes, but nothing really hinted that there will be a "Bad Ending", since in the very beginning of the story we bend the rules and get Death as our companion. There are several ways how the rules could have been bent, some of them mentioned in other reviews, but the most sensible for me is to make Sweet Pea (and Zephyr, for why not?) an "agent" of Death, one she would be sending off to have some things be sorted out.

Second. The yo-yo-ing with feelings in the end. The game first gives you a hint that that's the end of the road for you, but then gives you hope that everything will be good. Only to take it away from you again. That's just... no. The plot of the game is you risking a lot while sorting out a world-ending problem and your reward is 5 minutes of sex and death soon after it. It may have been a good farewell, true, but it leaves even more pain behind.

Third. So, did I say yo-yo-ing? There is a secret scene. I get another bit of hope that there will be a post-epilogue or something - anything which would give closure (or maybe hint on the sequel). And I find out it was just a gag. I get crushed with "Feels" again, only now even deeper.

Fourth. Abovementioned lack of closure. Okay, I got the negativity out of my system, and I start thinking about the plot itself more rationally. Our main character works hard, achieves the unachievable, etc. And their reward is... to die once again. It's a bad tradeoff for the feat. It would have worked if it was a "Episode 1", so we would know in the end that there will be more story with the characters. That there will be Deathblossom: Episode 2, which will have more story for Zephyr and SP, that the adventure will continue.

However, in the end we:

1. We don't know what happens with SP after she dies. We don't get to see her afterlife.

2. Zephyr is immortal/lives for a very long time, so they won't meet any time soon (if that is a possibility at all).

3. I am unsure what does the eye glimpse mean in the end. Like... Obviously it is to confirm the rumors, but what are the implications? Is she still a good person? She's turning evil? She's using her powers for personal gain?

4. This is edited in after posting, because I forgor. There is a secion when you play as Zephyr's (I guess?) soul, and there are some cruel imagery and flashbacks, as well as disturbing thoughts. I am unsure why it is there in the first place, and what does it hint on. Sorry.

Overall... Honestly, I hope there will be Deathblossom 2. With our beloved characters returning, with more lore, and a more polished world. I just did not expect this storyline from a "porn game", and it was a very bad decision to play it to chill before going to bed.

On the closing note, I would say that I am more than happy to discuss it more if you would like. I tried not to go wild west with this post, and it is still a big one.

Thank you for the detailed feedback! I'm sorry you didn't like the ending.

In the section where you play as Zephyr Lily's soul, the thoughts and images are memories from the lives of Yarrow and his lieutenants. As for the flash in Zephyr Lily's eye at the end: you'll have to speculate what it means for now, but if I get the chance to continue this story you'll certainly find out!

<3 Thank you the clarification, and I hope that the story gets a continuation! It's a good game.
