Ah, thank you!
My Girlfriend and I are excited to check out the game, so was slightly disappointed when I couldn't get it working, but I'm happy to know you're on the case =^^=

they still have not gotten back to me and I've been looking into reasons why it might not be working, I came across this post in a RPGM forum

"if it is a game made on WIndows and deployed to macOS, the message
is very common as it is missing flags required what windows doesn't
have to do so.

there are work around that might work which is download the windows
version of the game and try it in "Wine Bottler" for mac.

even though, this doesn't work always.

there is also a dirty work around, but mac to mac deployment works
best in this case, if he doesn't have a mac, it would be hard."

I'm on Windows and deployed to Mac so it was most likely because of that, do you want to look into the Wine Bottler? Not too sure what that is :0

this post seemed helpful as well

I'll check this out as well, thank you.

Update:
Using the command <sudo chmod -R 755 Game.app> allows the game to run, which is progress.
However,I now get this:

My current file path is downloads/CrystalDesiresMac1.02/CrystalDesires/Game.app
The folder CrystalDesires contains Game.app, v8_context_snapshot.x86_64.bin, and credits.html, which is how it came when I unzipped it.

Is there still something I'm missing?

I do actually have Wine installed, and I use it to run Pokemon: Infinite Fusion. I attempted downloading the Windows version and running it using that, but it gave me a long long string of error outputs and wait times before I quit the process 10 minutes later.

What worries me is that the Itch software doesn't see a 'compatible download' on my Mac. I do have one more idea - I run a VM to use Windows, so I can try on there. I'll let you know.
Though I will note that needing such an expensive workaround, even if fine for me, is really not great overall ^^;  I don't have experience porting Windows applications to Mac, but it seems a re-upload on your end may be necessary at some point...

I’m in the process of working on 1.03 at the

Moment so the upload wouldn’t be complete and have additional content, but I’d rather not leave you hanging if it doesn’t work out. I’m sorry that this ended up being such a confusing upload, I’ve never had or have a Mac so I’m not sure what any of the workarounds could be besides just looking into the issue, I’m not home at the moment but I’ll try to reupload it. Maybe Instead of a straight upload I can try using Mega? I’ll put it here when I do!

Much appreciated! I'm also not sure what's wrong - I'm new to the Mac, honestly.
I'll still give the Windows version a shot - should have time tonight - but I really appreciate your work =^^=

Here's a current version, Its about halfway finished with 1.03 so progress will just cut off somewhere without the little end card but should be okay! Not sure if this will work but I have had better luck with Mega when it comes to uploading issues

Hmm. Unfortunately, I'm receiving the same result as with the previous version - the screen telling me to move it to a different folder.

I'm going to try the last-ditch effort of running it through a Virtual Machine, though unfortunately my GF can't do that with me... we'll see

OK, the Windows version is running fine on my Virtual Machine. So an isolated Mac issue, then, I think

Yeah It's just for Mac that people have been getting issues for, glad it worked out for you though! I'll look into some solutions for future versions but I really don't have a clue what I should do, sorry that your girlfriend won't be able to join you though :(
