I really like the idea with everything being numbers. Your health is represented by a number and the xp bar was smart. I also like that you spent some time on the details like the hints and having a custom icon. And the fortune wheel was a nice bonus. Did never die from it, lucky me!
I played all the classes to around level 4. Could have played for longer but did sadly not get cooked. I think it is mainly because the game felt too slow. Not the movement per say but the scaling and some mechanics. For me the rate of fire was too slow for the gun. It was nice to be precise from a distance and it felt good when you managed to kill the one's through a gap between other numbers.
Spiker was cooked indeed but it felt like spiker was also the slowest movement wise?I had to run diagonal most of the time with spiker to run faster. This seems like a bug and I saw that you referenced it in the hint. Made me laugh a bit haha.
Spearman was a cool class. I liked how the spear looked but I did not really like how it felt. When stabbing the direction is frozen and this does not feel that nice but I think it could work. The biggest issue for me was that the spear only damaged the first enemy it hit. I would like it to be able to pierce enemies. Ususally I hit an enemy and that enemy and the one behind got knocked back, but only the first got hurt.
Some stuff you could improve:
I think it should be easier to level your first level. It also seems like all the numbers enemies give the same amount of experience? The enemies that start with a higher number should give more experience in my opinion.
Balancing
Sound/Music. This would do a lot for the game!
Note: Usually at gamejams you should try to make a game that can be played in the browser, you will get more people playing and therefore more rates. But it is nice that you offer both a windows version and a mac version!
A great concept but in need of some balancing in my opinion. Good job :)
