I agree with you HooGames, I will wait for the official WHDLoad version. I already saw that you released the game in non-dos format.

I have had little time to play lately, but I intend to play Phantom Leap fully.

Hi DanyPPC,

If by official whdload you mean the one that will eventually be officially released by the developer here on itch.io it is absolutely legitimate, you are free to wait his version in the hope that it will be as accurate and specific as possible (some developers for their convenience use a preset whdload model - named scorpion_dev.lha - with generic icon and slave applicable to all games in scorpion engine that for obvious reasons is not even minimally comparable in terms of quality to our specific whdloads, but maybe in this case it will be a version up to the task).

However, in an absolute sense we can only talk about official whdload if it comes from the official resource which is whdload.de, the other whdloads including ours cannot be considered as such, but at least they can be made according to the production standards of the aforementioned official resource, which is what we try to do as best as possible.

Infact, as you can see on screenshots posted below by us, Whdload versions we make fully respect the standards of whdload installers created by official whdload.de team, with specific slaves, splash info, graphic icons and readme files, and our adaptation of a Phantom Leap whdload is no exception: our whdloads compared to the official ones have nothing to envy, try it and believe it 😉

Furthermore, our speed in converting and updating these new games and the prominence we give to these new releases through social media announcements, also giving due credit and tribute to the developers by linking to the official sites of their games in original adf/lha format, is certainly an added value that should be held - and by many it is given our numbers - in high regard.

On the other hand, as you surely know, the majority of new games are usually not considered by Whdload developers, sometimes it takes months if not years to see slaves made for certain games, for this reason our 'real time conversion' work is often appreciated even if we are not part of the official whdload team, as a matter of fact one of our whdloads (Ami Robbo 2 Demo by Tukinem that agreed a total collaboration with us) has been included by Retroplay in its whdload fullset, which contains all whdloads released over the years by official whdload.de team, under the Games-BetaUnreleased folder, so evidently we are not that bad😎

Of course now that the developer has decided to release the new version of the game in NODOS format this complicates the adaptation a lot, and if the official whdload.de team - that Is really Expert in whdload nodos games conversion - Will decide to adapt it and will do it before us we will be very happy, in the end what matters is that the Amiga community can benefit from every game, old and new, in the most versatile and compatible format which is precisely whdload format☺️

Best Regards

Thank you for waiting. I will of course bring out an official WHDLoad version as with all other games. I have decided to release the ADf version only, because the game is still in development. As with all other games, there will also be different versions. So be patient a little longer. In the meantime you can report bugs to me. Thanks again for the support DanyPPC :)
