I'm seconding the STRAFTAT vibes. I'm not too sure how much the rings actually contributed - the health regen, sure, but I beat the final boss 12-0 without using the sprint and barely using the double-jump. Maybe if they'd been more splashy - a ring that gives your bullets ricochet, or explode, or something.

yeah difficulty was something I had a harder time nailing down... the options menu has a difficulty setting at least. I found late into the jam that the close-quarters maps are much harder, mainly cause I did nearly all of my playtesting on Heights. Maybe swapping the boss level with Market or Compound would have been a better difficulty ramp. Good ideas for the ricochet & exploding bullets, I def want to add some more. Thanks for playing!
