The thing about the timer is that it works as "HP" basically. We didn't want to make a default combat system, so we thought of making all enemies slow you down instead. So in this way the timer works alongside the enemies, since the player can't die from them or even from falling weights. The idea was to make the game a "search for something inside an old computer with lots of trash in it in a timed mission", so you can explore, but also should be aware of the timer.
