This is such an awesome tool and exactly what I've been looking for. Is it possible to make a full game with this editor (and additional content packages - I purchased PVGames Cybercity Pack a while back to use in RPGMaker but stumbled on trying to get the sprites in without facing weird issues) or is it best to make the maps and export to another editor?

Thanks, I‘m glad you like it!

You can use it as a tool with any engine or create a full game with it. I‘m working continuously on it and also incorporate feedback from users.

It works best for games like Diablo 1/2 or Baldurs Gate 1/2 and currently it only supports Windows games.

Thanks for getting back to me Nightmare and hope you are well! Sorry it has taken me so long to reply myself!

I'm finally able to dive into this and Diablo/BG is the type of game I've been wanting to make, but in a Cyberpunk/Dystopian setting akin to Fallout/Syndicate :D

I'm a level designer by trade, and dabble in some pixel art and modelling from time to time, but programming is by far my weakest point. So with that said, would it be possible to create a fully functional game of Diablo/BG ilk without touching the Lua side of things?

I also noticed the Character Editor states it currently supports characters from PV Games and Laserwolve Games but it seems Laserwolve no longer operates. Are there other sources for characters besides these two that would work with the engine and would there be future intent to be able to add characters from other sources like Voxel created etc?

Hi!

yes,  Lua is completely optional. If you want to create a typical Diablo style game you definitely don’t need any custom Lua scripts.

You can still use the builtin „block system“ to create custom logic but that is also completely optional.

Regarding artists : the engine supports any sprite sheets m, if you use the Rog Tools naming scheme these will automatically load.

I also added support for Engvee sprite sheets.

If there are other artists with fitting content I could look into adding first class support for these too but as a fallback you can always use sprite sheets with the correct naming.
