Out of all the games I've played so far, this one has the world I want to fall into and know the most. From the start the game breathes a personality that I want to wrap myself up in  - the characters are endearing in a way I didn't think I'd find in a game from this jam, and the protagonist and Kobe's relationship is built up in such a compelling way. That same care is threaded throughout the rest of the work too - the paper collage styling is wonderful, and builds on the frankly astonishing art done behind it. I particularly loved that the exterior art of the chariot is something we get to see in different light over the opener of the game - its a clever way to reuse the asset, and also allows different chances to admire the scenery.

It definitely made me sad that the puzzle felt like the equivalent of running into a brick wall - the ramp up in difficulty was rough with no lead up, and I've only been able to complete the puzzle once before both the web and downloaded versions bugged out and wouldn't let me move the wires. It makes me wonder if I was actually able to do something during the countdown and it just bugged out!

This is the exact sort of game where, if this wasn't a horny game jam, I'd be immediately hopping to youtube to find a play through just so I could see what happenes next  - and if this ends up expanded into a larger version, I'd be so excited to see what happens next in this world!

Thank you, really appreciate the feedback and that you liked the art and story!! Extremely flattering words to hear about what we made

Also very sorry that the puzzle gave you trouble, seems to be a running theme at the moment 😭 Would you be able to give more details about the bug and/or what led to the wired being unable to move? Want to try ruling out this issue in the future!

I’m glad the words hit right! :D

I gave the puzzle another shot today, now its not 2am - tugging around the wires in the first part and realising they only extended so far finally made that part click for me (I feel like the first time i played through, it didn’t register that the lengths were intentional - maybe sound effects when you fully extend them could help?). Between than and watching the walkthrough again with that knowledge I can finally see the logic behind what was going on here; it’s a REALLY neat little puzzle and it’s definitely salvageable. (I can imagine it sucks to see people get stuck on it! 🙃)

Re: post puzzle...

I would be curious to know what you’re supposed to do at the countdown as well - I can’t find anything to interact with besides the switches along the bottom of the screen, and I can see from the screenshots that there’s more to the game.

On re-testing, I figured out what I was running into was that you can’t move the wires while the flashlight is on! It didn’t intuitively click I couldn’t do both at the same time (especially since Kobe is the one holding it), and with me looking for clues on how to solve the puzzle I had kept it on.

Noted!!! Thank you for running it through again with more notes on the issue, this is very helpful 🙏. Will definitely keep in mind to add more intuitive feedback to assure what is an isn’t intentional in the puzzle, especially sound/dialogue queues. It is a lil funny that you can’t mess with the wires while in flashlight mode despite Kobe “holding it”, I think it was difficult to code, so we never got around to it within the game jam haha

Re: post puzzle

There is nothing you can do during the countdown that affects the results, and it was intentionally left vague yet interactable to stress out the player as if there is a solution they needed to find on a timer (there is not)! I originally actually wanted it so that you could even interact with ALL elements of the puzzle while this countdown is happening, but we didn’t have time to code that 😅 Its basically just a lead-up to the scene that happens afterwards!
