Love the art style and the writing was really good, glad all the bugs got fixed so I could finish!
I have already been pretty vocal about it, but I love this game. I am already a sucker for anything Ace Attorney-like, but this one really digs into the formula that feels right for Touhou. Having Kokoro act as a delicate bridge between the two factions plays right into a balancing the scales theme more than the literal broken scales do. The character designs are a feast to look at, and damn Miko is handsome. But on top of that, they are distinctly written in ways that makes their personality come out all the more. I loved presenting the portraits around to catch everyone's opinion of each other. Everyone dunks on Seiga to an obscene level, and then you meet her and it all feels very justified. Futo was equal parts hilarious and incomprehensible. I am in the camp her coat is hideous, by the by. If only she tried to modernize her speech instead of her fashion.
It is so unfortunate turbulence near the end of the jam left some technical difficulties to be resolved, as this gives an experience that really feels more like a complete Ace Attorney case than a jam game.
Tiny tiny fluffy shou
Big brain writing, i enjoyed a lot.
With the one exception of some clickable things not quite matching up with the artwork, this VN was super fun to play! The take on the character designs is super fun and the character writing is charming. YAY! I look forward to more stories with detective kokolombo.
The game has a very distinct art style that I like quite a lot! I can tell that a lot of good research was done to do each of the characters justice, too.
I'm looking forward to the update for evidence-presenting (especially a case with presenting a certain item to most/any characters). I'm excited to see the rest of the game through! ^.^
Hello there!
We have just uploaded what should be a fully-functioning version of the game if you have a chance to complete it. Thank you so much for your interest and I appreciate the kind words!
I would recommend deleting whatever you previously downloaded and starting fresh, if possible. Others have reported issues trying to sync saves.
I couldn’t really get this game to work. A lot of dialogues would kick me to the main menu, and it doesn’t seem like presenting items to NPCs did anything (on v0.3).
Hi there, programmer here; dialogues for presenting evidence will be integrated in a later version.
For now though, could you elaborate on the part about dialogues kicking you back to the main menu?
When a dialogue with an NPC ends, sometimes I would just immediately be sent to the main menu. I tried saving+loading but it seems like this actually corrupted some persistent state and caused further interactions after loading to also return strange results. In particular, if I got kicked to the main menu and then loaded a save file, the results of examine operations would often be incorrect (eg. I would examine something in an empty room, it would say that I can’t examine it with people around and then sometimes I’d get kicked to the main menu again).
Hey Bagoum, I think we've identified the problem and are working on assigning the proper jump labels to the proper situations. It might take awhile, however, since I'll have to do it myself and I'm not the most expert or have the most time. Thank you for letting us know!
Hello bagoum,
We have uploaded a version (1.) which should fix most of the issues addressed. Thank you for your interest!
