Were you ever able to beat him? I did upload an update to the game that made that fight a little easier. Shoot him quickly... avoid the star attacks, and hit him about 16 times... that should do it!
Yes I was, it was just a confusing fight, I didn't understand when the boss resets position, did I die? Did the entire fight restart? Or it's normal? I kept shooting and avoiding the starts, eventually he dropped.
