SOME SPOILERS FOR THE GAME!!!
Okay, very Sad Satan vibes, which is neither a compliment or an insult.
I was actually creeped out by it for a while. I played the browser version first, and couldn't find an exit (which I don't know if it was my fault or not) so i quit and downloaded the .zip file.
For future reference, don't make .txt files easy to find. I combed through all of the game files and everything to find some secrets, and I was also a little disappointed the coded message was in Base64.
Anyways, as I said before, I was creeped out but then I was actually annoyed. I'm not sure if only using the arrows was a conscious decision or just a lack of experience in game development, but it gets old fast. There are actually plenty of people who have shared their first-person controller files, so it would be worth checking them out and keeping people in the experience you're building!
Okay, so I'm walking around and the use of the odd blinking and high-pitched noises was actually quite scary... The first few times. In fact, when I launched the .exe file, I was already used to it. That said, the random 'ping' that occurred caught me by surprise, and then the 'whoosh'? I actually had chills for a minute after, because it was so unexpected (and because my headphones were turned up).
And then the game ended on a jump-scare. I'm not sure if there is more to this game, I know I could have went right rather than left, but in the end it just closed and I felt a little disappointed.
Overall, it was a solid experience, with a little too much story outside of the game rather than in. The reason I compare it to Sad Satan is because the game tries to build mystique too hard through being edgy rather than actually mysterious. My advice would be to check out some of the older .exe experiences that have cropped up over the years, as well as taking a look at games like Doki Doki Literature Club and the more recent, KinitoPET. Both games build mystique through hiding it and revealing they're true nature slowly. As a player, you know they're supposed to be horror games and when nothing happens, that REALLY builds tension.
Anyways, I really hope to see more of this game or more of your work! You definitely just earnt a follow right now!
