Hey there, I've been loving the plugin, you've really made an amazing selection of synths here, and I plan on using it in a PSX-styled game I'm making.

However, as some have mentioned, it causes my DAW to crash whenever I try opening a project that uses the plugin (reaper just immediately closes when I open it, and gives me a warning next time I try opening it), I've never had this issue with any other VSTs.

I tried what you mentioned, uninstalling the plugin completely and reinstalling it, but the issue persists.

I'm using Reaper 6.81, Windows 11 64bits

System info, if relevant:

This is the warning I get when trying to re-open, not very descriptive lol

Hey thanks for mentioning this.  I'm still not sure what is causing this critical error!  I am reaching out to the programmer of the tool that I used to create this (Maize Sampler) to troubleshoot.  I'm going to keep working on it in the meantime.

Hey quick question - did you happen to update the plugin between sessions?

Heyy, thanks for the quick reply! I didn't update it, no.

I've been trying to open the same project, and this seems to be a bit inconsistent. After trying like 15-20 times, it finally opened again, with no errors, and it seems to be working normally. This happened before tho, and then when I close the project again, and try to re-open, it breaks.

Hey I just wanted to come back and ask again about this.  Are you still having this issue?

I spoke to someone else who had the same issue, and for them it seemed related to ASIO drivers.  Do you find this to be true for you as well?

Yeah I still have the issue, I've grown kinda used to it, I'll just restart the DAW until it works. I do use ASIO, but I'm not sure what I could do differently with it, I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface.

Thanks for letting me know. This is a known issue with Maize Sampler, but I have great news. GuyEngine is getting a huge upgrade.  More user friendly, fewer bugs. New engine entirely. You'll still be able to use the old one but when it's out I would suggest swapping them from your projects.

That's awesome! Can't wait :)
