Several years later I still find myself looking in from time to time to see if there is a glimmer of hope there may be more done to this epic little game. Fingers crossed. :)

That's awesome to hear Phodis! Is there anything in particular you'd like to see improved or advanced upon? And what aspects of it do you find "epic"?

Man, sorry I don't frequent this site as much as I should.

I love the simplicity and speed in which the game takes place.  I love the simple miniature 2d fighting sprites I think they are perfect for the tiles they "live" in. It's just a lot of fun to play, that doesn't need a ton of time to enjoy. It would be cool if the dragons were not always the end game goal maybe. Randomized missions would be incredible with perhaps a few extra characters to employ on your journey. Taverns to hire them from with enough coins earned etc.

What about a permanent map for a large adventure?. Keep the randomized game for quick runs, but a large world map with set locations and randomized enemy/treasure and artifact  encounters. An ability to buy a small plot of land to buy a fort etc...for your army to grow would indeed make it Epic~er.  With an end goal, to take back the kingdom so to speak.

I don't know why I find this little game so good. But I think it has a ton of potential to really expand and be something unique.

This game doesn't need incredible graphics, it just feels right as it is. That said an expansion of tile types would be cool just for variety. EG: Spreading out the mountain ranges on the "world map", with sparse flat land areas in between. Roving bands of enemies that could be ~bought to join your cause etc..maybe some trainable animals..bears, dogs.

I'm rambling.

A year or so ago I was inspired by your game and as I tinker with Game-maker-studio. I even at one point downloaded the tile set you used, and created a map and had the movement down with my adventurer, but never took it any further. I am a bad programmer lol, but it's fun to mess around with from time to time.

Anyways, if you are bored at any point this would be such a cool project in my humble opinion. I think you have the makings of something really great, and it might even take off. Hey you gotta believe right?!.

Take care man, and I apologize for the crazy late response.

Glen.

Hey, thank you for the amazing feedback! I originally had a lot of ideas for this thing, but the core was always "play it as a roguelike, but grow through multiple characters without managing multiple characters directly".  Maybe the up and coming "He is Coming" has some of the same DNA as this game, but without the "party" aspect, so I guess we're in the roguelike auto-battler genre here.
