I got it!. A couple of ideas. If you were in this situation for real, a scary addition would be to have the spider able to shoot webs at you. Ones you can break through if you have a knife and are focused on it, to cut yourself free. This would build a lot of tension if you are trying to escape. To add to this if you were not just looking for card etc to get to different levels...but.. like Aliens :) ... you were trying to rescue say a kid, that's slow, scared and prone to running off if you lose site of them... these two additions would really make this little nightmare a lot more involving. I wonder if longer corridors in a few sections... or a ladder you have to climb to get to the next level...where the Huntsman could ALSO climb it right behind you >:)  would also add to the tension. Anyways, that's all from me for now. All the best.

Sorry I keep forgetting to read messages on Itch.io. I saw you follow me today, lol... I have not been very productive in anything creative of late. Just re-capping my first message... hell yeah I mean like Aliens the movie!. You have great atmosphere going on in this game man, it's not often something like this comes along!, so yes you captured a great ~atmosphere, of a one on one death match with the bonus fear factor of a freaking GIANT spider lol, I think it's very cool.

I have not looked recently to see if any thing has been updated, so I better go and check it out!.

All the best and keep up the great work.

Hi there, well that makes sense. I forgot about the Unity version and hadn't tried it out. Thank you again for a wonderful asset!, and I hope you sell tons of it as this truly is a fantastic way for people to generate ~custom sprites :)

I just bought the everything bundle and it's freaking AWESOME!!!.

              THIS BY FAR...

IS THE BEST PURCHASE

I HAVE EVER MADE ON          ITCH.IO !    LOVE IT.

One question tho. In the Fantasy creator editor, I never get a "Save preset" button when I have created a character. I don't ~think I am doing anything wrong, but I watched the Youtube video and it seemed straight forward enough..is there a trick I might have missed?.

Man, sorry I don't frequent this site as much as I should.

I love the simplicity and speed in which the game takes place.  I love the simple miniature 2d fighting sprites I think they are perfect for the tiles they "live" in. It's just a lot of fun to play, that doesn't need a ton of time to enjoy. It would be cool if the dragons were not always the end game goal maybe. Randomized missions would be incredible with perhaps a few extra characters to employ on your journey. Taverns to hire them from with enough coins earned etc.

What about a permanent map for a large adventure?. Keep the randomized game for quick runs, but a large world map with set locations and randomized enemy/treasure and artifact  encounters. An ability to buy a small plot of land to buy a fort etc...for your army to grow would indeed make it Epic~er.  With an end goal, to take back the kingdom so to speak.

I don't know why I find this little game so good. But I think it has a ton of potential to really expand and be something unique.

This game doesn't need incredible graphics, it just feels right as it is. That said an expansion of tile types would be cool just for variety. EG: Spreading out the mountain ranges on the "world map", with sparse flat land areas in between. Roving bands of enemies that could be ~bought to join your cause etc..maybe some trainable animals..bears, dogs.

I'm rambling.

A year or so ago I was inspired by your game and as I tinker with Game-maker-studio. I even at one point downloaded the tile set you used, and created a map and had the movement down with my adventurer, but never took it any further. I am a bad programmer lol, but it's fun to mess around with from time to time.

Anyways, if you are bored at any point this would be such a cool project in my humble opinion. I think you have the makings of something really great, and it might even take off. Hey you gotta believe right?!.

Take care man, and I apologize for the crazy late response.

Just watched a Youtube video on this. Well done. Captures the horror of the situation extremely well!.  Be cool if there were some small spiders that you could kill separately as well. Just an idea, not a criticism as this is an incredible atmospheric game as it is... it's ~almost aliens kinda class if you know what I mean.

Several years later I still find myself looking in from time to time to see if there is a glimmer of hope there may be more done to this epic little game. Fingers crossed. :)

This is not good.... It's AWESOME!!!.. Great gameplay, fluid graphics; just feels right. Well done indeed!
