Hello and thank you for the game!

I don’t know if this is a Delivering Hope issue or an itch.io client issue, but after the update, hitting “launch” gave two identical buttons to click on. One launched the old version and the other launched the new version. I couldn’t see any way to hide or otherwise disable the old version, and even renaming its folder didn’t help. Finally I had to rename the old .exe (to not be an .exe anymore). Don’t know if this is the expected upgrade experience and it seems important given the warnings about not using the old version after the new one.

Hello! Thank you for playing!

That sounds like an itch.io client issue to me. I haven't used it, so I don't know how it works, but maybe there's a refresh button somewhere? Or maybe it needs to be restarted to "forget" the old version.

About the save file corruption warning, it's mainly for versions 3 and earlier. Version 4 and 5 have some additional mechanisms to prevent corruption so it shouldn't happen.

I did try refreshing/restarting before that — it didn’t change anything, though. Not sure what the client expects from games to handle this situation, other than possibly having different names on the .exe, since it does show the file name and size on those two buttons. Maybe they expect the names to contain the version number, and they rely on the user seeing that?
